Sorry I have not been posting much recently! I have been incredibly busy, however I did manage to free up my schedule this week before classes start up again. I recently chopped off all my hair, which inspired me to take some photos of myself for the first time in a while, hopefully I will keep up that trend.
Recently I fell in love with comic books all over again, I have probably spent more money on comic books in this last month than anything else sans essential things. Currently I am crazy for Saga and Trees by Warren Ellis. And all of this has inspired me to work on maybe making my own comic (cue excited gasp). I have the characters and concept drawn up as well as the first page sketched out! We will see where it goes from here.

I dyed my hair almost a month ago but I have been so busy that I havent taken any good pictures of it! Finals sort of took over my life, but my largest finals project turned out well after one full night of work and all my afternoons for two weeks. And now I am free, which is a lie, I am busy watching Twin Peaks. But maybe I will get around to actual production soon enough. I am in the middle of two different paintings and I need to prep one for a gallery show later this month, so I cant be lazy forever.
P.S. This shirt is the best shirt

Blouse: Forever 21 Everything else: Thrifted

I wish I could say that I had some crazy adventure and went to parties all of spring break, but I didnt. What I did do, however, is travel a couple miles from home to Rock Springs and Mt.Dora! First of all, rock springs is the most beautiful place I have been to in Florida. I am not so into Florida wildlife, but that spring is surrounded in pine trees and rock formations which are stunning. plus it has beautiful aquatic plant life;It was a biologists heaven.
Sadly, I do not own a waterproof camera/ I forgot to buy a disposable one, so the only photos I have are from Mt.Dora! This little town is just a marvel, it is full of old buildings and adorable antique stores.

It wasnt what most people would expect someone who lives in a party sort of state like Florida to do for spring break, but I surely enjoyed the break from my studio classes!

Photographer Feature: Benoit Paillé.

If I was asked whose work had directly inspired me, my first thought would be of Benoit Paillé. His stunning photographs make me feel like I am floating in an urban dream. I have admired his work for many years, it has earned a spot of my blog ten times over.
You can check our his website here: http://www.behance.net/Benoitp

Skirt: Thrifted  Cardigan:  Thrifted  Boots: Shoedazzle  Top: Romwe

I hate to only have about 20 posts on this blog and have a repeating item but this Gustav Klimt top is magical!
This past weekend I went to the Renaissance festival. It was actually way more fun than previous years, probably because it was not so hot outside this year! I enjoyed the normal magic/comedy/whatever shows but one of my favorite things about the ren. fair is that you can get incredible crystal jewelry and raw crystals for cheap compared to Wicca shops online. I have gotten super into various crystals and their healing abilities recently. So I was super excited when I got the above rose quartz  necklace for only $5!

Dress: Free People   Boots: Shoedazzle

Today was amazingly wonderful. As a belated birthday gift, Craig took me down to St.Pete. We had delicious tea, visited with adorable bookstore cats, bought some rad cassettes + books, and found one fantastic tree, which I just HAD to climb. Especially while wearing a long lace dress. Well, it was worth the fantastic photos.
I know my change in hair was pretty obvious, but I feel the need to point it out. So, hey look! White hair! I am in love with my new hair color, I feel like a little elf.

Coat:  American Rag   Dress: Vintage Tights: Target (holes in tights via me being clumsy)  Boots: Shoedazzle

If you live in Florida or have ever been to Florida during winter, then you would know that a cold day is a miracle. Yes, even in February. So I have a mini heart attack (in a  good way) every time I get to wear this fantastic coat! And today, said coat worked perfectly with my primary color (almost) theme.

Dress: Thrift store   Sweater: Thrift store  Petticoat: Vintage

I had a wonderful thrifting day this past weekend, in which I snagged this fantastic dress and sweater! Overall today was a day of overcoming fashion "rules". I have always been told not to wear two shades of the same color together, totally broke the rule and loved it. Additionally, I knew when I got dressed this morning that my petticoat would gather a lot of attention and well, I was right. I honestly do not like attention when it comes to my clothes. Little compliments are nice but people going "WOW, thats different!" does not strike me as a compliment. And I must say, a lot of people thought my outfit was "different". But I couldnt care less, I felt like a queen. I intend to pull many similar fashion changes out of my magic closet soon. Maybe I can host the hottest clown fashion show on the East Coast, I am super jazzed for it. But all in all I have been working towards being more confident, and clothing is a perfect first step. I have found that confidence really is not directly related to appearance, but rather how you create yourself. Any body shape or size can look fantastic, but it is up to the person in that skin to show it to themselves. Dress it up, dress it down, cover it in  tattoos, shave it, dont shave it, whatever. Your choices about how you create your body make it feel more your own, and you begin to see more things to love about it. This process is not easy and can take time, but I feel that anyone can grow to love their body. And you deserve to, you look wonderful.

Also, Animal Farm is what I am currently reading. My only message is that I love George Orwell sooooo very much.

Skirt: Modcloth   Sweater: H&M   Shoes: Thrifted/Doc Martens   Bag: Vintage

This outfit is full of wonderful things! I have been eyeing this space skirt for so long and I am so glad I got it!  Its so flowy, I feel like a interstellar queen. Additionally, I always read item reviews before I buy and boy am I glad I did with this skirt, it runs very small!I had to size up for sure. And I cant even begin to explain my love for this new bag. Its from a wonderful local vintage shop, Artpool gallery. I think it was originally bought and then sewn onto, but either way I love it!
Recently I have been getting back into being creative. I have an assignment coming up for college that I am super excited for/cant wait to finish!! I will soon be making more posts of my artwork on here! Its one of my new years resolutions to spend more time doing art!
On my old blog I did a "song of the day" for every post, I want to start that up again! So here is an oldie but goodie.
